Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has recently introduced a comprehensive set of measures designed to tackle social issues and extend support to individuals impacted by street crimes in Karachi. One noteworthy revelation pertains to the provision of complimentary motorbikes and mobile phones to those who have fallen prey to street crimes, particularly individuals who have experienced motorcycle theft. To take advantage of this opportunity, individuals need to present their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and First Information Reports (FIRs) at the Governor House.
Governor Tessori underscored the imperative for collaborative endeavors in resolving national issues, expressing confidence in the transformative impact that contributions from all sectors of society can bring about. Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Tessori disclosed that a staggering 1,700 motorcycles were reported stolen in Karachi in the preceding year.
In conjunction with the distribution of motorbikes and cellphones, Tessori also unveiled the introduction of health insurance cards, offering coverage of up to Rs500,000 for medical treatment. This initiative is positioned as a strategic response to the healthcare challenges confronting the general populace and their families.
Furthermore, the governor reiterated his unwavering commitment to public welfare by elaborating on previous initiatives, including the distribution of rations to 250,000 people and the hosting of iftar for 300,000 individuals at the Governor’s House. Additionally, Tessori shared details about the imminent launch of free IT courses, marking a significant step towards providing avenues for skill development and education.
Importantly, Tessori affirmed that he has refrained from making any personal demands throughout his tenure of 15 months.
