Pakistan makes a good start in the World-Cup as they beat Netherlands

The Pakistani cricket team, renowned as the Green Shirts, has embarked on their World Cup 2023 journey with an exciting clash against the Netherlands at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and Pakistan makes a good start by beating Netherlands.

In a thrilling match in Hyderabad, Pakistan set an impressive target of 286 runs during their first innings after being put in to bat by the Netherlands. The Pakistani duo of Mohammed Rizwan and Saud Shakeel both contributed brilliantly with scores of 68, leading the charge for their team. On the Dutch side, medium pacer Bas de Leede stood out as the star bowler of the day, securing remarkable figures of 4/64 from his 9 overs. Interestingly, Pakistan couldn’t complete their full quota of 49 overs while batting.

Second Innings:

The game saw an early breakthrough by Hasan Ali, who dismissed Netherlands’ opener Max O’Dowd after he managed just 5 runs from 12 balls. Shaheen Shah Afridi made a terrific catch at deep fine-leg, and the Netherlands found themselves at 28/1 in 5.5 overs.

Despite a promising start, the Netherlands’ batting lineup encountered a significant struggle. They went from a reasonably strong position of 120/3 in 23.5 overs to a precarious 164/7 in 33.2 overs. Vikramjit Singh and Bas de Leede emerged as the top scorers for the Dutch side during their chase.

The Netherlands’ innings ultimately concluded at 205 runs in 41 overs, with Haris Rauf clean bowling Paul van Meekeren. Pakistan secured an impressive 81-run victory, averting any surprises despite being limited to 286 runs. The entire duration of the Dutch innings lasted 187 minutes.

Ind vs Pak:

This confident win, led by captain Babar Azam, marks a strong start to Pakistan’s campaign in the 10-team event in Hyderabad. With one more game at this venue before their highly anticipated clash with India in Ahmedabad on October 14, the Men in Green are off to an exciting beginning in the tournament.
